The 11 Books You MUST Read This Winter

I am most productive in winter, I guess, because I am home a lot more, and there is so much time to manifest if used wisely. In this day and age, books can be a very valuable asset to your mental growth. I say that because with everything going on on social media and our phones in general, it can be so hard to just read a book on your phone. Some times, going back to the Stone Age is best, if you know what I mean, lol.

If you are anything like me I needed some motivation even to figure out what books I like. I had to ask myself a couple of questions :

Here are some thoughtful questions to guide you in choosing books for personal growth and development:

1. Understand Your Goals

  • What specific area of personal growth do I want to focus on? (e.g., mindset, productivity, emotional intelligence, leadership)
  • Are there habits or skills I want to develop?
  • Am I looking for inspiration, practical advice, or actionable steps?

2. Reflect on Your Challenges

  • What challenges or obstacles am I currently facing?
  • Are there aspects of my life where I feel stuck or unfulfilled?
  • Do I need help managing stress, improving relationships, or boosting confidence?

3. Consider Your Interests

  • What topics or fields naturally interest me?
  • Am I drawn to stories of personal transformation, scientific studies, or philosophical insights?
  • Do I prefer books that are light and conversational or deeply analytical and data-driven?

4. Align with Your Learning Style

  • Do I learn better through personal stories, exercises, or structured frameworks?
  • Am I comfortable with dense, research-heavy books, or do I prefer easy-to-read and relatable ones?
  • Would I benefit from workbooks or interactive guides?

5. Seek Inspiration and Growth Beyond Comfort Zones

  • Are there perspectives or topics Iโ€™ve avoided but might learn from?
  • Could exploring a new genre or field broaden my horizons?
  • What would push me to think differently or challenge my current beliefs?

6. Assess Practical Needs

  • How much time do I have to dedicate to reading?
  • Do I need short chapters or books that can be easily read in small chunks?
  • Should I focus on timeless classics or newer releases?

7. Draw on External Insights

  • Are there books highly recommended by mentors, peers, or leaders I admire?
  • What books have influenced people in roles or lifestyles I aspire to?
  • Are there bestseller lists or book clubs focused on personal development that I can explore?

8. Balance Growth with Enjoyment

Is there an author whose writing style resonates with me?

What type of books am I most likely to finish?

Would I enjoy a mix of deep growth books and lighter, more entertaining reads?
